[Open for Applications] Community Manager (Contract)
About the Role
HYPER REAL is looking for a Community Manager to help grow and engage our player communities across multiple social media platforms. This is a remote contract position with flexible working hours, ideal for someone who is passionate about games, online communities, and social media.
Responsibilities
・Manage HYPER REAL’s social media channels, including X, Bluesky, Instagram, Discord, TikTok, and other community platforms.
・Grow and nurture communities around our game titles through consistent engagement and communication.
・Develop community strategies and content calendars tailored to each title.
・Plan and execute social media campaigns, community events, and promotional activities.
・Coordinate with external PR, marketing, and community agencies to ensure alignment of messaging, campaigns, and community activities across channels
・Communicate directly with players through comments, direct messages, Discord, and other channels.
・Monitor community sentiment and social media trends, and provide regular reports and recommendations for improvement.
Requirements
・Native-level English proficiency with excellent writing skills.
・Conversational Japanese proficiency sufficient for internal communication via chat.
・At least 1 year of professional experience in community management or social media management.
・Experience in marketing, communications, or community-related roles within the video game industry or a related field.
・Proven experience managing and growing communities on platforms such as Discord, X, TikTok, Instagram, Steam, and other social networks.
・Strong written and verbal communication skills.
・Deep understanding of social media trends, internet culture, and gaming communities.
・Basic asset editing skills using Photoshop and/or Illustrator.
Nice to Have
・Additional language skills (the more, the better).
・Strong passion for indie games.
・Demonstrated success in similar roles, including community growth initiatives.
Contract Type
・Independent Contractor / Freelance Contract
Working Conditions
・Fully remote.
・Flexible working hours.
・Approximately 10 hours per week.
・Some availability across different time zones may be required to support global communities.
Compensation
・Monthly retainer or hourly rate (negotiable).
・Compensation will be determined based on experience and qualifications.
Contract Term
・Initial contract term: 3 months.
・Automatically renewable upon mutual agreement.
